Humans of coffee: Sarah Jackson

Who is Sarah Jackson?

I am a busy human. Probably too social for my own good. I am a musician, a song writer, a singer. A creative in many areas. But I think I tend to label myself by my music, which in itself is very scary. To measure my value by what people label me by? It’s a scary thought, that maybe I need to discover or appreciate my worth beyond what I think I am and what I feel I am.

What is your best childhood memory?

I have many. Probably walking back from the beach to the campsite, side by side with my brother and cousins , singing “I CAUGHT A PUFF UP FISH!” Chuffed with my fishing skills. My brother and some of our friends used to take canoes or kayaks in to the dam and paddle out to the water ski ramps. We would climb up and pour dish washing liquid over it. Then we’d slide down in to the water. And repeat. Best times.

If you had a chance for a “do-over” in life, what would you do differently?

Have a more confident attitude from a younger age. Have more faith in my capabilities and be bolder in my actions. If I were more driven from a younger age, I feel like I could have accomplished a lot more than what I have.

What do you feel most proud of?

I guess I’m proud of that fact that I was the first Jackson to study at a university and get my degree. I’m proud of the way my parents raised me. I’m proud of my creative genes. That I can pick up a guitar and write a song. I guess my music is what I’m most proud of.

If you could only keep three possessions, what would they be and why?

My guitar. A pillow. My passport.

What do you want your tombstone to say?

I don’t even know. maybe “Gtg, BRB” :’)

What is your passion project?

I’m currently working on releasing some of my own music. I am feeling the pressure and I guess the want to not fail is stalling me. However soon it will be released. Returning to my roots of folky pop happiness.

What’s your favorite kind of coffee, brew method or coffee origin?

FLAT WHITE. I like freshly ground beans. If I go to a new place for coffee, I always feel like I need to do a quick research to find out if they make good coffee by asking a few questions. If I’m not sure of the coffee, I might just ask for a double espresso and warm milk. I like my coffee strong, but not too bitter. I like it with milk and sugar.

In which coffee shops are we likely to bump into you?

Father Coffee, Velo, Vintage Coffee.

What does a perfect day look like?

Hmm, I have many different versions of a perfect day. Okay, so like a perfect saturday. It would or could involve, sleeping in, drinking the perfect cup of coffee. Lunch with friends. Missioning during the day. A nap. Great conversation makes for a good time. Maybe spend the evening in the pool on my lilo, enjoying the night sky. Or I mean it could be laser tag. There’s just so many great options for a perfect day. This question is too much pressure.
