Who is Christiane Andrade?
She is a happy mellow woman who is always smiling. She loves being creative. This just happens like breathing. She has still much to learn about painting, drawing, photographing, baking, music etc. These are all means that she finds to express her passion for life and love for people. She is half extrovert and half introvert. When it comes to social media she tends to be quite introvert but she thinks it’s time to give it a try. Lately, she has felt inspired to create on Instagram a profile of photos that she registers during her trips. She is no professional photographer and has no photography technique, but she is a quick brain and very open to learn. In her case, it’s not about being technical but having a heart. Not about taking the perfect shot but capturing the right memories. She loves and lives well. Everyday is a day to be a better version of yesterday, she thinks. She has recently found out how to use hashtags and she’s enjoying it that much because they remind her of waffles.
What is your favorite childhood memory?
I was 9 years old. It was Christmas Eve. My family was living on our first home, after having spent some years at my grandparents’. We arrived from their house around midnight and could stay up until late because it was Christmas. The children all had reasons to celebrate. We sat in front of TV to watch cartoons and then mum brought a beautiful box of Christmas cookies for us. We could eat as much as we wanted. I was very happy that night. Much peace, much love, family and Christmas time.
If you could have a do-over in life, what would you do differently?
I don’t know if I would consider having a do-over because, good or bad, many things in life happened to build who I am today. I live well and love well. I am free and bold like an eagle. I think I would just not give much attention to the many critical voices that tried to pull me back in the past and would follow my bliss a bit more.
What do you feel most proud of?
I am a very passionate person in everything I do. I believe that the most beautiful treasure I can build for myself is my character. Richness of the world is vain but character remains. So I am proud of having a heart, being a generous person, loving people and being available to hear their stories and giving them support on their flaws. I love being a laid-back person with a steadfast mindset. I am straightforward in the talk as much as I am genuine in my walk. I live for what I believe and that includes making the world a better place, starting from inside (myself) out.
If you could keep only 3 possessions, what would they be and why?
My family, my true friends (including my dog) and my books.
I am not perfect but I am who I am today because of all those people who have been with me on the journey, in rainy and sunny days. They freely love and accept me, with the entire combo I have of strengths and flaws. Why my books? I can be picky at things sometimes and strive for excellence even though I myself have so much to learn. But my heart doesn’t fall for things. It falls for meaning. I would not mind having less shoes, or clothes etc. I can survive without make up and brands don’t dress me up. I know my value. But my books? I would keep them. I think I could walk bare feet for a while but I couldn’t stand living an empty-headed life.
What do you want your tombstone to say?
She was not perfect but She was perfectly loved.
What is A.R.T.S?
I am developing a project called A.R.T.S and stands for Always Ready To Serve. It connects the different types of arts with social work. The focus is to encourage children, adolescents and young adults to reach their creative potential and embrace a balanced life, so that they can thrive in their goals and dreams, by sharing healthy values and principles, valuing friendships and exemplifying love.
What is your favorite kind of coffee?
I wish I knew about coffee as much as I love to drink it. Everything in Life that has a nice story behind is what captures my attention. So, I go for single origin coffee. Even tough I love the drink, I highly do not appreciate espresso. But my favourite is what we call here, ‘café coado’ (filter coffee). I like to enjoy coffee as much as I like to be involved in a good talk with a nice person. Let the memories be sweet so please take sugar away from me.
In which coffee shops are we likely to bump into you?
Anywhere I feel the aroma of great coffee and awesome architecture and uniqueness in places. It’s not about a brand but about meaning and taste.
What does a perfect day look like?
It can be a sunny day at the beach having tan and coconut water or it can be a day in a safari or in a jungle. It can also be a cold winter day or any ordinary day. It doesn’t matter the place but in what company I am with. I am very fond of genuine people; great coffee and awesome talks around me. That is what perfection looks like.
