Humans of coffee: Pippa Rowney

Who is Pippa Rowney? Pippa Rowney is just a girl, standing at a coffee bar, asking for a good cuppa. I am also a part time freelancer/part time blogger/part time volunteer. I love people although I am introverted at times. Whenever I can be creative I jump on the opportunity. I have a deep faith in Christ and a holy discontent towards leadership in this world. Did I mention I love coffee! What is your best childhood memory? Best childhood memory is getting home from school, throwing my bag and shoes off and jumping on the back of my dad’s bakkie to go onto the farm with him. Yes I was a farm child #supportlocalfarmers. If you had a chance for a “do-over” in life, what would you do differently? I’m actually not sure. I often say I wish I’d studied OT, but to be honest I’ve learnt from life and all the mistakes and I believe that I am who I am because of what I’ve been through in life. What do you feel …

Humans of coffee: Anna-Belle Durrant

Who is Anna-Belle Durrant? I’m particular, critical and quite serious but on the other hand I’m a loskop, easy going and pretty darn ridiculous. I’m an amateur photographer, blogger, business owner and wife. Some people might say that’s what I do not what I am but I think what I do defines who I am and vice versa! What is your best childhood memory? I’m the youngest of three children, so, when I was little my brother and my sister took it upon themselves to terrorise me. At the time I was probably upset when they played their pranks on me, but now when I look back they are happy memories. Whenever we get together we laugh and laugh about the things they used to do and get away with. One prank lead to me being tied to a chair and being hurtled through my mom’s stained glass window… now that I think about it that one was pretty funny at the time, I’m surprised no one got hurt! If you had a chance for a …

Humans of coffee: Heather Mason

Who is Heather Mason? I’m a 40-something writer-photographer-blogger and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa, in a suburb called Melville. I moved from the United States to South Africa in 2010, which is when I started writing my blog, 2Summers. Slowly, over the last six years, blogging has evolved from a hobby into a profession. What is your best childhood memory? I was a serious athlete during my childhood and youth and played on a competitive girls’ softball team. When I was about 15 my team won the Maryland State Championship, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship, and went on to place 9th out of 60 teams at the U.S. National Championship. Being part of a team like that was an amazing experience and taught me a lot. It was definitely the best summer of my childhood. If you had a chance for a “do-over” in life, what would you do differently? Several years ago, I left a marriage. I knew I had to do it and I knew that ultimately my leaving would be the best …
