What do you do when your body doesn’t agree with coffee?

Coffee is a peculiar thing. Some love it, some hate it. Some start their day with it, others can’t make it through a day without it.  It can be cheap and incredibly unpleasant or it could be made in a way that resembles art.  For some it is all about the brewing method, for others it is all about the ratio between milk and espresso. No matter what your relationship with coffee is, how and when you drink it, what roast, whether it is organic or fair trade — we all have one thing in common when we sip away on that cup. It’s the intake of caffeine.  I am no coffee connoisseur, but I would say that I certainly know a good coffee from a bad one and I prefer to have good ones (to be precise, a flat white, medium roast, organic if possible, no sugar). When my options aren’t good, I opt out instead and when my options are good, I’ll walk an extra mile for it. I love coffee for the …

Humans of coffee: Bastiaan Roozendaal

Who is Bastiaan Roozendaal? I am 31 years old at the moment. I am a coffee lover, no I am not an expert. I am an entrepeneur, a father, a boyfriend and love to take on new things. I am from the Netherlands – no, I do not wear wooden shoes! What is your favorite childhood memory? That probably is the freedom you have as a kid. Not a care in the world only caring about that kickflip I need to land or the next fun thing I was going to do. I grew up in a small village with a lot of open land and farms, so that’s a lot of fun as a kid. If you could have a do-over in life, what would you do differently? My shool! I didn’t feel the urge to do my best in that time so I finished shool but I could have done so much more. What do you feel most proud of? My son, my grilfriend and my 2nd son that will come in July!! …

Humans of coffee: Emma Lee

Who is Emma Lee?  I’m disciplined in the art of results. As head designer in junior sportswear for a fast-fashion company based in San Francisco, Byer California. What is your best childhood memory?  The daily conversations with my mother after a long school day. If you had a chance for a “do-over” in life, what would you do differently?  I actually don’t really have anything much that I would do differently in life, so far I’m pretty lucky and really grateful of what I have and given in my life. What do you feel most proud of? Having the luck and stamina to achieve and nourishing my role as head designer within my respected field. In constant revolving inspirations of fashion and its business’ challenges. If you could only keep three possessions, what would they be and why? Does a person consider as possessions? If it does… I guess I would only keep my parents and my husband… they’re the most supportive family in my life and I would take them everywhere I go. …
